Tablet computer based assessment with young children in SKOLEKLAR

Researchers in SKOLEKLAR (Getting Ready for School) have collaborated with NettOp (the Division for internet based learning) at The University in Stavanger in developing an app for data collection among 5- and 6-year old children. Here you can see Professor Ingunn Størksen demonstrate this tablet computer based app.

In the research project SKOLEKLAR at the Norwegian Centre for Learning Environment and Behavioral Research in Education the researchers have developed a special application (APP) for tablet computers to use when assessing self-regulation and academic skills among young children. In this presentation you can see a glimpse of how this application works.

During spring 2012 a total of 243 Norwegian children (aged 5) were tested with this application during their last year in the Norwegian daycare system. During spring 2013 the same children will be tested with an extended version during their first year in Norwegian school. In this youtube Professor Ingunn Størksen demonstrates the SKOLEKLAR application.
