What is Core-Net?


Six leading research centres located in six countries have joined forces in a network called ‘Core-Net’. These six research centers are located in Canada, in the USA, in Australia, Finland, Ireland and in Stavanger, Norway.

Core-Net was established in Stavanger in 2004, at the conference Taking Fear out of Schools, an international policy and research conference on school bullying and violence.

In Core-Net the activities are meta studies on methods and re-sults, collaborative research design on identified critical issues, strategies for enhancing collaboration with practitioners and autho-rities, international research seminars for PhD students, extensive background in research, programme development, collaboration with educational authorities and collaboration with practitioners.

The members in Core-Net are LaMarsh Centre for Research on Violence and Conflict Resolution, in Toronto, Canada, the Anti-Bullying Centre, at Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland, the Research Centre at Curry School of Education, at University of Virginia, Charlottesville, USA, the Research group at Edith Cowan Univers-ity, in Perth, Australia, the Peer Relations Research Group at University of Turku, Finland and the Centre for Behavioural Research, at the University of Stavanger, Norway.
